BASIC CALLING FEATURES for CISCO IP PHONE 7940 and 7960

PLACE A CALL (OPTIONS)

1. Lift the handset and dial the number.

2. Press a line button and dial number.

3. Press a speed-dial button

4. Press the SPEAKER button and dial

the number.

5. Press the NewCall softkey and dial the

number.

ANSWER A CALL (OPTIONS)

1. Lift the handset.

2. Press the line button associated with

the call.

3. Press the Answer softkey.

4. Press the SPEAKER button.

TO END A CALL (OPTIONS)

1. Hang up the handset.

2. Press the SPEAKER button.

3. Press the EndCall softkey.

PLACE A CALL ON HOLD

1. During an active call, press the Hold

softkey.

2. To return to the call, press the Resume

softkey, OR press the line button

associated with the call on hold.

REDIAL MOST RECENT NUMBER

1. Lift the handset and press the Redial

softkey, OR simply press the Redial

softkey to activate the speakerphone.

CHANGE BETWEEN HANDSET /

SPEAKERPHONE

Handset to Speakerphone:

Press the SPEAKER button and hang up

the handset.

Speakerphone to Handset:

Lift the handset.

MUTE A CALL

1. Press the MUTE button. The MUTE

button automatically lights, indicating

the calling party cannot hear you.

2. To turn off mute, press MUTE again.

CALL TRANSFER

1. During a call, press the Transfer softkey. This

places the call on hold.

2. Place a call to another person by dialing the

number. Announce call or proceed to step 3.

3. Press the Transfer softkey again.

4. The call is transferred, Hang up.

CALL CONFERENCING

(Maximum of 4 / You + 3 additional)

1. Call the first party.

2. Press the More softkey.

3. Press the Confrn softkey and dial the next

party. Once connected, press the Confrn

softkey again to connect all parties, or to

conference in one more.

CALL FORWARD

To Call Forward all incoming calls:

1. Press the CFwdALL softkey.

2. Type in the number to which all calls will be

forwarded.

To Call Forward all calls directly to VM:

1. Press the CFwdALL softkey.

2. Press the messages button.

To un-forward calls:

1. Press the CFwdALL softkey

VOLUME CONTROLS

To adjust the volume for the current call:

1. Press the - or + VOLUME button to decrease

or increase the volume of your handset,

headset or speakerphone.

2. Press the Save softkey to save the desired

setting.

RING TYPE

To change the ring sound:

1. Press the settings button.

2. Use the NAV button to scroll to the Ring Type

option on the settings menu.

3. Press the Select softkey to display the list of

ring types.

4. Use the NAV button to select a ring type.

5. Press the Play softkey to hear a sample

of the

selected
