The Canadian Cancer Society is a non-profit organization, which is on a pathway to defeat cancer and help those who are fighting with it everyday of their life. They also want to create a world where no fear of cancer exists amongst Canadians and they believe the most important way to behave with the patients is to be caring, provide courage, integrity and be progressive. They provide support for those who are affected by cancer by providing funding, which is received from the vast amount of donations that Canadians give. This non-profit organization fund research on all types of cancer, offer comprehensive and credible information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment, and provide support for the people who are living with cancer and family members of the patient. This organization creates awareness among communities across the nation, such a the advertisements, posters, door to door information, walks, and much more. This organization runs a great amount of volunteers. The volunteers run the events, sell daffodils ( the organization logo), create awareness and much more. Every donation made, whether it be small or large, provides a great amount of assistance in their mission. Administration cost is taken from the donation, but to a very small extent. They want to donate every dollar they possible can.
Needs of Society
The organization meets the needs of society by providing funding for those who need support in order to defeat cancer. This organization has created a family, where all the cancer patients and families of the patient meet and mingle in order to make patients understand they are not alone in the fight against cancer. They provide moral support so that no cancer patient could give up. Canadians join this organization usually through the fund raising events which take place annually, such as the " Taking a Step Against Breast Cancer", " Relay for Life" and much more.
