Today, nearly everyone has a cellphone. They help us do so much. Cellphones are great but can’t do the same things as you can with professional photography equipment. Cell phone and professional photography pictures are very different in quality, user knowledge and cost.
Cell phones are built for different purposes than professional cameras, so the quality of images is not as good. Cell phones are meant for communication with people. They let us get things done on the go. They let us email, text, play games and even let us get work done when not in the office. Even though we have cellphones their cameras are not as good as professional photography. Professional photography uses cameras. These cameras are just meant for taking pictures so, that’s all they focus on. Cellphones have a multitude of uses. Cellphone cameras are getting more features but, nothing can compare to professional photography.
Cell phones don't require as much user knowledge to operate the camera as with professional photography. With cell phones you just point and shoot, and it does the rest. There are zoom options and panorama options. The zoom is not as good as a professional camera. The panorama option is actually really good because most professional cameras don’t really have it. This is great for the average person, but some people want to take it to the next level. Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras require more user knowledge because these cameras have a lot of different settings available to play with. They have an auto setting, which is useful, but they offer many more possibilities. There are two settings that most professionals use, and they are shutter priority and aperture priority. What shutter priority does for the user is that you can use it to freeze motion or blur it. Like if you are trying to freeze a bird moving this will be a great way to do it. One instance of blurring the picture would be to take a time-lapse. What a time lapse does is it blurs the motion in a picture. This would be especially useful if you wanted to take a picture at the beach and make it look like the waves were moving. Most people just freeze the waves when they take pictures, and motion would make the pictures more interesting. The other setting most professionals use is aperture priority. This lets in more or less light to the camera to capture the picture. You’ll often see them referred to here as f-stop for example f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6, f/8, f/22 etc. Moving from one f-stop to the next doubles or halves the size of the amount of opening in your lens and the amount of light getting through. This is known as depth of field, which is how much of the photo is in focus.
Cell phones, although they cost a lot, are not as expensive as you might think. Cellphones can cost more than $1,000, and people love all the amazing new features that they offer (face ID to unlock your phone). Phone manufactures have to keep people buying the newest phones by adding new features, but
