“Change is something that cannot be controlled. Whatever it want to happen, it will going to happen.” The first text “My Country” which consist of two poems written by Krahnvohl and Mackellar. The two poems were distinguished in different perspectives through contrasting about nature and the modern things. However, in the second text “Deeper Water” written by Kelly and Jacobs. It expressed their emotions in lyrics and how change is inevitable according to the time.
In contrasting with the two poems ‘My Country.’ One poem is critical about the environmental and social destruction of Australia for profit. It talked about a beautiful modern city is covered with pollution and the dark mists produced from the factories in which, have turned our modern city into a place where it is full of enriching products and fast economic. Despite of that, people started to build more houses and building hoping to get a huge sum of return (profits). For example, “Mid-Urban sprawl expanded, Now rapidly enriching, Investors Overseas, Production’s– Profit’s Pride, Pollution high and wide.” As a result of this, the environmental have abolished into infrastructure for human’s activities and that causes it to change, because our society can never be controlled. On the other hand, the second poem is referred to Mackellar’s view of Australia. This poem deals with nature descriptions about Australia. It was written in order to inform people about the beauty of nature and the wilderness of this country. Mackellar’s “My Country” is a poem expressing about her thoughts of deep passion and how she love her country. For example, “Running in your veins” she is describing the country that she loves in which, it represents blood and heritage. Also, words such as “Love and My Heart, My Country” appeal to the readers emotions. Everybody feels that such words have a strong effect. Therefore, even though it may have some negative aspects of Australia, but she will never change her view in the country that she loved.

At each stage of his life he enters “Deeper Water,” something he’s never experienced before but with the strength he learnt from his dad he swims instead of sinking. For example, in the last stanza- “the man takes the child up into his arms, Takes her over the breakers, To where the water is calm.” With this stanza, it shows that when his partner dies he’s able to show the same love to his daughter like his dad did for him all those years ago. Thereupon, time causes it to change like a clock that can never stop moving.
In comparison with the two poems, the Krahnvohl’s poem we can see the language techniques through the use of descriptive words which picture in our imaginary. For example, “I love a sunburnt
