Cheerios: Simply the Best
It is common knowledge that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Logic then infers that in order for this crucial meal to be properly attributed, it ought to include the best food there is. Cheerios, introduced in 1941, have withstood the test of time and continue to charm one generation after another. The classic taste of these savoury morsels satisfies individuals of all ages. Not only do toddlers love to munch on this perfect snack food, adults cannot resist the crunch and simple pleasure Cheerios provide. The delicious quality of Cheerios is not only in its taste, but its nutritional value as well. It is important to eat a balanced breakfast in the morning because the body cannot function efficiently without any energy after fasting all night. Cheerios is the only leading cold cereal that has been clinically proven to lower blood cholesterol levels when eaten as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol. With only one gram of sugar per serving, Cheerios are an excellent source of long-lasting energy. Cereals high in sugar content cause a peak in blood-glucose levels which is followed by a spike in insulin levels. In a study done of over 16, 000 adults, researchers concluded that those who ate cold breakfast cereal had a tendency to weigh less that those who did not (Mills). The nutritional benefits that Cheerios offer make it the perfect choice for the most important meal of the day.
Not only are cheerios the perfect mate for milk in the morning, they can be enjoyed all day long. The rich flavour of the whole grain oat cereal is the perfect base or partner for everything from strawberries and bananas to peanuts and popcorn. Sweet-tooth cravings can be satisfied by mixing Cheerios with honey and peanut butter to make crunchy squares. Crushed Cheerios serve as an excellent substitute for oats in traditional homemade baked good recipes such as banana-oat muffins or cookies. Rice Krispie squares will become virtually extinct when marshmallows realize that Cheerios make a much better companion. Yet Cheerios are not limited by their naturally sweet disposition. They can be enhanced by a variety of flavours and combinations. Cheerios bring a whole new dimension to a party when mixed with pretzels, mixed nuts, Chex
