Dear Father,

 I am significantly surprised at myself for even writing you back, but lately we have all been full of surprises haven’t we? I am extremely surprised at you father, for what you have done to me, for the predicament you have put me in. You were supposed to protect me from anything and everything, yet here you are, being the person who IS putting me in danger. I am in fear for my own life, because of you! You’re doing this all because I’m not following your stupid tradition, right?

I love Lysander, he loves me, and he is an upperclassman. What is wrong with being with someone that you didn’t pick if they have the same capabilities as the person you chose for me? Traditions break, norms die, and followers fall back. It’s part of society and there is no preventing it, sometimes it takes many years, but it is inevitable and bound to happen sooner or later. I understand you are struggling to grasp this solidified, inevitable truth, but Father, how could you choose to let me be executed?

In closing of this letter, I just want to you understand that no matter the hardship or discontent with me, I love you father. I will never forgive you for this, but you will always be my Father. I couldn’t change that even if I had wanted to. You will probably never see me again, so this letter is goodbye.
