Classification of Restaurant Tippers
Having been working in the restaurant industry as a waitress for over three years, I`ve been faced with many different kinds of situations. Waitressing can bring in a good amount of money and isn’t really that hard at all. The main purpose of a waitress is to promote good service, and with good service comes good tips . . . most of the time. There are many different types of tippers, ranging from those who tip extremely generously to those who leave without placing a tip no matter how good the service.
Generous tippers are the best kind. These types of tippers come in many forms. There’s the rare tipper. They come in unexpectedly and no matter how low their bill was will always leave an above average tip. There`s also the type of generous tippers who leaves good tip because they`re in the restaurant industry as well. They almost always leave a good tip because they understand the desire of a big tip. Then there`s family members, they almost always will give you a really good tip when they come into your work to eat.
The percent tippers are fairly common. Every server believes that they deserve an above average tip. Many people use their cellphones to calculate the tip. They tip according to the total amount of the bill. They can go off the type of service they feel they received. Ten percent or lower would be a bad tip, I always try to aim for twenty percent or higher which is the average tipping amount.
All servers have run into a horrible tipping experience. There’s always the people who are usually very polite, pleasant, and complementary. But they always leave a crappy tip or no tip at all. They are often frequent dinners and continue to give a crappy tip. One of the types of bad tippers are the ones who steadily complain and are unsatisfied with every thing you do no matter how much effort you gave them. Dealing with these types of customers are a pain
