College, it is the final step into adulthood after high school. A college education is almost a necessity for a student in today's society. A college education is the first step in getting a good start in today's work force. Many companies and major contenders in the global economy of our country will not consider hiring a person lacking a college education. The seemingly fundamental decision to further your education in college is not always the correct choice for everyone. However, while the positives of going to college seem to clearly outweigh the alternative of not attending college, it's not easy. In order to graduate from college; you have to be focused on what you're trying to achieve while in college and, at the same time, stay focus on what you want for yourself and not what others want from you.
First, the decision to continue your education in college is one that needs to be made with the understanding of reaching toward your life's goals. At its' most basic level, the purpose of college is to educate, so when making that decision learning becomes the essence of that choice. To enter college without the desire to learn is to almost defeat the purpose. If one enrolls into college with the misconception that learning is secondary to everything else then that person has set themselves up for failure in the long run. Going into to the collegiate process with a yearning to learn is the key to being successful in your college experience.
Second, the college experience is about one's own personal maturation into adulthood. While in college you have to be mature enough to manage things on your own. You have to be able to rely on your own self discipline to get things done. Attending classes, completing homework, studying, time management, etc., are some examples of how you demonstrate responsibility in college. Likewise, there is no one there to tell you what you have to do and do not have to do. You have to be determined to achieve the goals you have set for
