She sat there ruminating sinking and dissolving in the lyrics of “coming down” by halsey. She distinctly glared at those words on the pin board that read “its okay! You will get through this” hoping to neutralize the sinking feeling that seemed to engulf her every second. Too drained and too dejected she tried crying to fill in this endless void but only ended making a sorrowful face and a sickening feeling.
She removed her glasses so that the flowing tears would not smudge them and looked deep into blazing street lamps which seemed like endless sparkles consequent to one another. At first big, bright and dull and as the car moved forwards they became more distinct their outlines became more solid and she became weaker. Tears flowed obstructing this process of focusing and out focusing making her mouth sour and her lips moist. She didn’t know why she was crying but there was pain, the kind of pain which could make your insides ache and outsides burn.
Pain wins over fear she realized that night as she lay on the bed devoured in the darkness of the room. It was funny how a day before she was too scared of switching off the lights but now nothing seemed to matter, she didn’t care whether it was pitch dark, or it was extreme claustrophobic she just wanted the loud music to feel her bones and slowly diffuse through them.
Wasn’t it obvious the more you thought about a bad memory the worse it got? But she was surprised how quickly this process of thinking and affecting was clearly evident by the proportionality of thinking to that of the intensity of her tears.
