RESEARCH PAPER ASSIGNMENT

• Pick a topic that interests you and is related to interpersonal communications (for example: divorce in America and relationships, domestic violence and the social exchange theory etc.). You will be researching this topic in general, then examining it through the lens or scope of a particular theory or model. Once you have thoroughly examined the topic of choice through the lens of an interpersonal theory, you will need to research how other countries or societies deal with similar issues.

• Provide general foundational knowledge of the particular topic. Define and explain how your topic is important and related to interpersonal communication.

• Pick a theory from any chapter in the book or from outside library research.

• Define and explain theory.

• Examine your topic through the scope of the theory you have chosen.

• Research how your particular topic and the theory works/ or does NOT work in other countries/ societies/ culturesвЂ"Basically explore whether the topic and the scope of the theory works across a variety of different types of lifestyles.

• Requirements:

o Paper must be a MINIMUM of 4-6 pages, 12 pt. Font, 1 in. margins

o Paper must be typed and a formatted (MLA or APA) reference sheet must be attached (in addition to your 4-6 pg. paper)

o Student needs to utilize a variety of outside research sources

o Students must have a minimum of 5 sources
