Political factors
[pic 8]We must start by asking ourselves: What is the political situation of the country and how can it affect the industry? Some relevant factors regarding the current political situation of the country are the following: the current government has modified regulations due to the situation of Ecuador and it has aroused the anger of the population. For two months, people are in the streets protesting for their rights. Political Ecuadorian situation is unstable, many people are against the government. The MINTUR program looks for the positioning of Ecuador as a destination for international tourism investment.
All You Need is Ecuador Campaign, makes the country an attractive destination for investment. The Train Route is also contributing to the Ecuadorian development in the touristic area. This Train Route has 700 kilometers of railroad and almost no private investment. Bucay is part of this route and it is not exploited at all. Economic Factors
There are several prevalent economic factors that affect positively and negatively San Rafael: First of all, it is necessary to take into consideration that there is an advanced sale of oil to China and a huge debt to that country. On the contrary, there are good news for the touristic sector in Ecuador because in 2014, 1’557.006 foreign tourists arrived to Ecuador; and it represents a growth of 14, 4% compared with 2013. There are 21 hotel projects in the country, which amount of investment is around $ 650 million dollars. Another issue that must be considered is that Drop of the oil’s price limits or reduces the General State Budget. Also the implementation of Safeguards make the prices of the goods increase. A limited General State Budget affect the touristic market because the government cannot exploit the resources in the best way. The economic situation also affects customers that have less purchasing power. Life is more expensive and salaries remain the same due to some economic factors. Finally, it is important to know that Private tourism companies have plans to invest nearly $2,160 million dollars in hotel infrastructure in Ecuador from 2014-2020.
