Courage
Courage is the basis of the duality of man. The duality of man is what all men go
through in order to become a man. This journey directly relates to the courage one must
show in order to develop as a man. Courage is found in those who admit their mistakes
and take responsibility for their actions.
Over the summer I encountered a situation in which I showed great courage. This
situation lead to one of the most difficult decisions I had ever had to make.
It began when I enter Marian high school illegally on July 15. My courage's moment
was not by any means entering the school illegally, but what happened after the incident.
When I woke up on July 16, I immediately realized what a mistake I had made. Yet I was
in a state of denial, I knew the school had my name but I refused to give in. I thought for
hours and hours about turning my self in. Hours then turned into days, and days into
weeks before I could gather the strength to admit my mistake. On July 26 I was brought
into the Framingham Police Department for an interrogation. It was then I knew I had to
man up and take responsibility for my actions.
