Dear Judge,

My name is Melinda Jannette, I am married to Mr. Nick Jannette, and we have been married since July 31, 2009. I am writing you this letter as he has an upcoming hearing with you for his disabilities, I would like to shine some light on his various health problems. I have known Nick since 2004 and have watched his health get worse by the year, he has many problems, starting with his lower back, he often is in great pain and at least once a month can barely walk, I know his lower back makes him have severe pain and causes many other problems, one of the problems is with his hip and feet always being in pain, he has very little feeling left in  his feet, and his hip throbs him greatly, he also has bad knees which require shots of steroids for him to even walk. His feet have many problems including bone spurs and they are in very bad places like two of them digging into his Achilles tendons which make them unable to be treated with steroids, he cannot really wear shoes that are tight such as dress or running shoes, he is on many medications for pain in excess of ten pain killers a day plus other anti-inflammatory.  He gets embarrassed because he cannot even bend over to put his shoes on, I have to help him, Nick is very proud and I believe he hides some of his symptoms from his doctors out of pride, sometimes I have to help him clean up in the bathroom do to his back issues. He also has a terrible sleep apnea problem and uses a cpap machine which really doesn’t help as he throws his mask off after maybe 45 minutes of sleep every night, I constantly have to wake him because he stops breathing for up to two minutes at a time, this causes him to have major problems and require Adderall just to stay away during the day, I know he has Narcolepsy, he cannot stay awake even to watch a  movie, he falls asleep driving and even when I am talking to him, it’s a huge problem I fear for him, I wish you could hear his snoring and breathing issues, this all affects his memory and makes him very irritable. These problems have also contributed to his being overweight, it’s sad to see him not be able to walk, do to his knee issue’s, feet problems and many other issues. I believe he is fully handicap and it’s sad to see, he is a handsome and proud person, he had a dream to be a lawyer, I know it makes him sad when people ask him about that. I know he is in constant pain and has no choice but to take all this medication but it all has bad side effects. I hope this letter helps you to know he is really hurt and needs your help, thank you. I belive do to his sleep apnea and narcolepsy, combined with all his high powered pain killers it would make doing a job nearly impossible.
