In society today there is a certain cookie cutter image for the perfect woman, race and body type. People are always searching for the latest trends by looking through magazines and different media outlets. The media is the number one cause for stereotypes in society. When I got a chance to sit down and watch some of the latest shows on TV, I took note of the way these programs portrayed certain individuals.

The first show that I watched was American Idol. Before I watched the show I had preconceived notions that the judges would only allow the best singers with good looks to go through. When I watched the show I saw that no matter what they looked like; race, nationality, style, and looks, where all allowed to move on in the competition. In American Idol, as long as you can sing, you're through. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this show has no racial bias, and I will continue to watch it.

The second show I watched was Dog the Bounty Hunter. This show is based out of Hawaii and is about a bail bondsman. He works with his wife and kids trying to track down offenders who miss or skip their court dates. When they go on their stings they carry no weapons, and persuade the culprits to do the right thing and go with him. I thought from his outside looks the he is a mean man. He wears a bulletproof vest with nothing under it, and he will never be caught with out his shades on. Dog is a gentle giant and talks a big game. As soon as he catches the bad guy, he has a heart to heart, and never gives up on anyone. All the bad people in the show are also not just guys, a lot of

times girls will skip their dates also. Dog and Beth especially feel bad for the women with children, and will always before turning them in, take them to their headquarters and

gives them something to eat. I thought this was another terrific show. It showed a family doing their job, but not in a regular way that cops do. They all have loving hearts and try to find the best in each individual they help.

The next show that I watched was the Real housewives of Orange County. When you first think about this show you would think
