1. What are some of the decision factors that Pepsi Co. assesses?
There are at least four categories that drive Pepsi's decision-making process. Their number one priority is a balance mix of products distributed and sold in a given area. Finding the right mix of products to be marketed in a give area isn't always easy. Factors such as product and package modernism, cultural diversity, and the global platform can either work for you or against you given the right set of circumstances. Expectations are also very important to Pepsi. They do business and make decisions in a very disciplined fashion. Driving its company towards long-term growth through an intense resource commitment. The next major decision making factor is market growth. They are constantly looking to establish a continuous increase in their volume of sales, while optimizing the profit and revenue at the same time. Finally there is leadership. Pepsi intends to cultivate a strong customer base through solid leadership techniques. Taking the extra steps to ensure the Pepsi name continues to maintain its presence in the beverage and convenient food market.
2. What strategic alternatives does PepsiCo consider?
I personally believe the people at Pepsi are doing a very good job strategically. They have that urgent need to improve competition and they are doing an effective job at convincing the people of Asia that there is an urgent need as well. They have really done their homework in this area. Asia only makes up 14% of their international revenue. With such a concentrated population of people, this is a prime breeding ground for growth. But they have taken it a step farther by helping to build the Asian economy.
