Description: factors relating to the social environment in which a person lives. Research indicates that people who live in a positive social climate (eg; positive and supportive relationships with others, good working life, a healthy and positive early life and a good diet etc) have improved quality of life, less burden of disease and a longer life expectancy than those who do not. Factors: (FUSSWASTES+C) Food Unemployment Social Gradient Stress Work Addiction Social Exclusion Transport Early Life Social Support + Culture | Description: Socio-economic factors relate to ‘social class’ (upper, middle, lower) and position on the ‘social hierarchy’ (CEO of a company or a labourer) or to specific factors such as income, education or occupation. Factors: (HEENMIFAR) Housing/neighbourhood Education Employment Migration/Refugee status Income Food Security Access to Services | Description: factors that impact on a person’s health that are external to the person. Environmental factors that impact on health are usually outside of a person’s control. Environmental determinants include features of the Features of the: 1.natural environment (eg; temperature, climate, the land) and 2.built environments (eg; a factory, buildings, roads, housing structures/developments, parks, cycle-ways and footpaths) 3.Geographical Location | Description: factors relating to the body that impact on one’s health.
