EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
We Group 3 of PGDM I year Section A are providing our project report on how Dell Inc. uses Information Technology to attain competitive advantage in its sector.
In this project we are focusing on how DELL is using INFORMATION SYSTEM to grow and manage their business in the IT industry. The hardware and software used in the company is quality maintained and meets the customer demand recognized. Dell uses mobility which helps in empowering the work force to be more productive, satisfied and better ability to serve the customers.
Dell uses SCM system to maintain their inventory stock and delivery unit effectively. CRM platform is used to customize the product and main maintain good relationship with the customers. Dell provides 24*7 online support and efficient after sales service. Dell has eliminated all middle men in their supply chain management system.
Their E-commerce website was started in 1995 which provides on stop shop for all the computers and accessories. Dell uses decision support system for taking the season about forecasted sales, it is also used for to disseminate information about liking and preferences of customers which ultimately result in right mix of services.
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
In 1983, 18-year-old Michael Dell left school to work throughout the day for the association he set up as a green bean, surrendering hard-drive moves to corporate customers. DELL has been able connect with inexpensive access to technologies that can address the customer issues and deliver best value, user friendly and flexibility.
