Introduction
The business of mobile communication was first introduced to Kuwait by MTC after almost ten years Wataniya followed the steps of MTC in the business with a slight difference. The popularity of those two companies is expanding really fast because they are the only two companies in Kuwait that provide mobile communication, but there is one major problem that the consumers are facing with those two companies which is the prices. The prices that are offered by the companies are increasing gradually in a way that is not convenient for the consumers. With increasing need to mobile communication and the rapid increase in prices this is where the idea of Q8 telecommunication came from. Our company is made to and from the consumer. One of our major goals is to provide every service that the customer may need in the mobile world with the lowest prices of course with great focus on high quality services and keeping up to date with the mobile technology.
The Company
Q8 will be located in Kuwait city, behind the Catholic Church. The main product for our company is the domestic traveler service since its segment represents the largest segment in the market. The mobile services in Kuwait represent 2% of the services sector witch is 22.5% of the market. Our aim is to gain 2.5% of the service sector, and to gain 22% of the mobile service industry in Kuwait.
The company is wholly owned by its owners Abrar Al-Houli and Shahad Al-Jasser. The company building is comprised of 750mІ. The company is planning to hire both full time and part time employees. The priority will be for the Kuwaitis, all company employees will get a free of charge mobile line.
The Products
Q8 provides basic mobile services like phone calls, sms, mms, wap. It also provides other packages like the student package, reteired package, and family package.
Our company's goal is to serve the consumer not to gain for the consumer. Since this is our aim our products are provided in really low prices. Prices that are convenient to any person in the kuwait society. The products are also made to match the most up to date technology in the mobile service community.
The Market
The population of the kuwaiti community is 2,418,393. our potentail customers for the coming five years are 532,047 which
is 22% of the whole population, with consideration that MTC has 59% and Wataniya has 41%. The company had segmented the market to four main segment which are the general consumers, student consumers, retired consumers, and the domestic traveler consumer.The company is now in the process to start working by the end of the current month. The company will spend substantial marketing efforts in determining which set of features are the most attractive to each customer segment. Offering customized quality product to each customer segment at a competitive price level will be one of the marketing goals of Q8 Telecom.
Financial Considerations
The marketing research and tailored marketing strategy described in this business plan will result in after-tax profits of KD945,100 in 2008, increasing to nearly KD1,168,513 in after-tax profits within three years. It is estimated that by year 2010, revenues will reflect an 22% market share of the local mobile telecom market.
