Introduction

The factors surrounding the reasons employees remain employed at Florida Sun Company (FSC) while there are also factors that cause employees to leave abruptly is a known issue at FSC. This research study will examine the factors as to the reason the employees leave as well as examine the reason the employees remain in their positions.

It is important to closely examine all the factors of the employees whom have left their positions in a well rounded view as well it is equally of the same importance to examine why some employees remain in their positions. In doing this it will enlighten the company executives view of their company from a different perspective.

Researchers have come to recognize that retention and turnover are best understood through examining the interaction of organizational and personal factors (Westbrook, Ellis, & Ellett, 2006). Therefore, the reasoning for close examination of all factors surrounding the employees is fundamental to the discovery of the attrition rate at FSC.

Some have argued that varying rates of employee retention across organizations may be due to differences in organizations’ cultures and values (Kerr & Slocum,1987; Kopelman, Brief, & Guzzo, 1990; Sheridan, 1992). Given these insights, closer attention to organizational conditions that drive workers away is warranted.

Discovering Factors Revolving Around the Florida Sun Companies Attrition Rate

A canvass of interviews would be scheduled with management and lower level employees as to how they view their job, what would they change about their job if they had the opportunity. They would be asked if they had a vision of how their future would be and if their current path is on the road they want to travel.

There would also be questions as to, how would you progress your career? Do you foresee yourself growing with the company? This would give insight as to where this employee is headed and what
