Topic 1: Young people who drop out of high school are unlikely to have the necessary skills needed to work in today's complex and technologically advanced workplace. The completion of high school, in most cases, is needed to further education to gain the necessary work skills. For this reason, general education is a bare minimum requirement in most jobs and careers. Many jobs in today's society call for additional schooling and training. Most careers require more than a general education; the worker must need advanced skills beyond high school. Many trade jobs require experience from apprenticeship programs that require high school and or college degrees. Skills learned through the first years of high school are not sufficient to lead you throughout the rest of your life.

Topic 2: The average earnings for a high school drop out are significantly less than a graduate. Due to the lack of education, it may be impossible for one to have an average or above average salary.
