I have compared 2 market, E mart and G market advertisement. They both says ‘come to our market ad buy product’ but the details of each ad are different
- The advertisement I consider good – E mart advertising
The Message of this advertisement us that we will make you fill comfortable buying a lot of goods. It means that if you feel burden about buying goods because of economic problem we will remove your burden. I think the creativity of this ad is storytelling. In this ad newly married couple went to e mart together. Husband wants to buy this and that but wife blocks him to buy things because of economic problem( pay tax, prepare for raising baby etc) And I think it’s a wonderful idea because I totally agreed with this scene that many new married couples felt like that. The overall emotion and atmosphere is very moved but fun. The reason why its fun is because there are reversal I this add. One thing is that there is a lot of wife’s narration telling the hardness of living as a new married couple. There’s no special copy but in the end of add it saids come to E- mart. I think the agency tried to target couple. And I think the advertisement send the message well to these audience because recently in korea many single couples spent a hard time because of economic problems( surging in house costs, increase in prices)
- The advertisement I consider bad – G market advertising
The Message of this advertisement is that we recommend you to come to G market and buy bed. There’s no special meaning in this advertisement. About creativity, I think there’s no special creativity in it. Just one boy and one girl dances through the rhythm and the advertisement finish. Also there’s no special storytelling in this advertisement. The overall emotion and atmosphere is very heightened and also the melody is too dizzy. The copy of the advertisement is just list of food, toys and ‘come to G market’. Moreover the advertisement uses the word ‘Hard carry’ which is usually used between middle school students and it’s a slang. I think the agency tried to target young students to come to G market but it is weird because it also says come to G market because we have prepared holiday food which is targeting mother.
