Part 1 Thank you
I feel greatly flattered (privileged) to be here and deliver this speech in front of you. Honestly, I didn’t vote for myself, I nominated Henry and Detlev. But I still got the chance to be here. So there must be some of you nominated me. I want to express my gratitude to all (or maybe one) of you for nominating me as a candidate for the president election for Cohort 15. Thank you.
Part 2 Sorry
In Daniel’s statistics class last time, I challenged some of you at the presentation part. Because Team 1 got a very high score and ours wasn’t as good as I expected. I was a little bit disturbed at that time and made quite some comments/challenges to other teams that followed us. There is a Chinese saying that “never build up your happiness on top of other’s painfulness”. So I need to apologize to some of you here for my over-reaction last time. Sorry.
Part 3 Who am I
My career in banks (NORD/LB, Scotiabank, East West Bank). My family life (I live as a queen). My favorite season is summer and favorite color is green. I used to be a volleyball player in school team. I’m huge fan of literary films. My personal label in Weibo: Future Banker, literary and female angry youth, idealist and life enjoyer.
Part 4 Why me
I used to be a class leader in my elementary school and middle school. I am the chief initiator and organizer for almost all my classmates’ reunion and gathering activities. I also have been emcee for signing contest in my university. I am very enthusiastic in personality and I have passion to organize events and activities for friends and classmates.
Part 5 Why not me
We have excellent classmates in this room. Henry, Ruby, Detlev, Xixi who have shown their strong capability and willingness in social activities and I believe they can devote more for cohort 15 than I do. Please vote for them! My main purpose for this speech is to introduce myself to all of you and practice my oratorial skills in front of the public. And I feel that’s the end of my speech. Thank you.
