Not always what you think
In A Rose for Emily by William is an amazing story that has a plot you wouldn’t expect. A Rose for Emily is for the early 1900s where society is in a different form as it is now. Emily thought it would be great when her father died. She thought she can be free do thing her way and dating homer.
After Emily’s father died, Emily hasn’t paid her taxes in ten years. The town has a special connection with Miss Emily ever since it decided to stop billing her for taxes in 1894. But, the newer group of people wasn't happy with this agreement, and so the town’s people paid a visit to Miss Emily and tried to get her to pay the money she owed in taxes. She refused to acknowledge that the old agreement might not work anymore, and absolutely refused to pay. Everybody felt sorry for Emily when her father died. He left her with the house, but no money but still wanted her to pay her debt. It was that not too long after her father died Emily begins dating Homer Barron, who is in town on a sidewalk building project. The town extremely criticizes of the affair and brings Emily's cousins to town to stop the relationship. Her cousins did not like the fact she was with home .One day, Emily is seen buying arsenic at the drugstore, and the town thinks that Homer was going to give her a shaft, and that she plans to kill herself. When Emily goes out to buys a bunch of men's stuff for homer, everyone think that Emily and Homer are going to get married. Out of nowhere Homer leaves town, then the cousins also leave town. After Homer hears her cousins have left comes back. Homer has come back to Emily. After Emily rarely leaves home besides when she was teaching painting lessons. The last time anyone ever sees homer is walking into Emily’s house.
