Lord of the Flies Preliminary Writing
Imagine being stranded on a deserted island with your classmates from this class. How would you survive? What would you do to protect yourself from wildlife? What would you do about your classmates? Would you help them and work with them, or would you do things on your own? What would you do if a classmate started threatening others or yourself? Respond with a 14-sentence paragraph.
Stranded On An Island
If I were stranded on an Island with my zero period English class, I would bond with Julia Baird, Hanna Wise, and Kelsey Hopkins. I feel we would work well together and find the essential tools in order to survive. As far as the rest of my class, I do not see myself getting along with anyone because I have severe OCD and control issues. Additionally, certain classmates would push my buttons. To protect myself, I would create a shelter with the nature around me, using twigs, leafs, etc. depending on where we are and the climate. Also, I would make a spear to hunt food and use as protection from any wildlife. Hydration is key when stranded anywhere, so I would find a fresh source of water. If someone were to threaten one of my close piers or myself, I would distance myself as far away as possible. Furthermore, I would befriend a male classmate who is strong and cooperative. He would be able to help with the heavy lifting and many camp chores. Also, they could serve as a barrier against arguments and be the primary rationality for the final group decisions. Having a male can also help keep the peace, respect, and prosperity. I wouldn’t wish for anything else other than success for others, however, I am trying to keep myself alive as much as possible. Therefore, sustaining a healthy diet, creating shelter, and keeping a positive mental Zen and attitude are key factors in order to stay alive!
