My Favorite Sports
Everyone has hobbies or loves to do something in their spare time, sports are what most kids and teenagers play. When warm weather comes around I spend most of my time outside playing some type of sport. Most people only play one or two sports because it is so time consuming. The sports I play are football, basketball, and golf.
Football is the type of sport that can be played year round. To play a pick up game with my friends, we need at least 10 players. On a hot summer day when I have a bunch of my friends over, there’s a field by my house that we go to and play. We would always play for a couple hours. If one team was playing a lot better then the other, we would switch teams up to make them fair. We were all on our high school team so we knew how to play and games went quick. Sometimes this caused conflict resulting in people leaving. On rare occasions fistfights would break out because someone bragged too much or hit someone really hard on purpose. We were all friends, but we all had our moments. The fun about football is something can always happen, and there’s always good memories made by playing football.
Most of the time when I play basketball it’s usually just shooting around or playing one on one in my driveway. Back in middle school I was on my school team and played AAU travel basketball. Basketball is the sport I play the least out of the three, but is still fun to play. My friends and I sometimes go up to the recreation center to play basketball. It has 3 full gyms with two courts in each gym. There are always other people playing so it’s really easy to start a pick up game. We play full court five on five up to 21 and winner gets to keep the court. The only bad part is if you lose you have to wait in line to get in another game, which usually takes about an hour. It’s rare that there will be an open gym to shoot around or play your own game, depending on the time of day it’s always packed.
