Is it possible to show love for someone, while pushing yourself outside your comfort zone? Well, I can say from experience, I can say yes. Yes you can push yourself outside your comfort zone, for a person or people that you love.
My dad had a best friend. Their name? Oh, her name was Psy. My dad and Psy were friends mainly because they had a lot in common. Well after Psy left Colorado, and went to go find a new life for herself, my dad thought that she was dead. The only reason why my dad thought that Psy was dead was because that is what her mom told my dad.
Over ten years later they found each other on Facebook. My dad was so happy and excited that his friend is still alive and doing well. They started talking over Facebook every day. Eventually they got each other’s numbers and started talking on the phone very often. Soon my mom started talking to Psy as well and became really good friends with her. Then they introduced me to Psy and her girls, Zoey, and Bookie.
Soon enough we were talking on Skype on an almost daily basis. As the months went on, and we all got closer and closer as friends, my mom decides to go New Mexico, were they lived, for a week on her own and to go see them. When she went out there on her own it was in October of 2015.
As my mom was out there, I tried to Skype her, since it was my first time going a week without seeing her.
“How long did it take you to get there?” I inquired, thinking that she would just say a low number.
“It took seven hours to get here. “ She said with no hesitation, but with tons of exhaustion in her voice.
“Wow. That is a really long time to be driving.” As the little kid in my sixth grade self comes out.
“Haha! Yeah. Well sweetie we all need to get to bed, it is already nine o’clock.” My mom said to me while still being somewhat stern with me. After we all said goodnight to each other; I finished some homework, and then went to bed.
