My Dearest Brutus,
It has come to my knowledge that you have recently been secretly conversing with a man named
Cassius. Being your wife, I am truly concerned with what you may be talking of or planning and I am sure
that whatever he is scheming is illegal in some way. His doing will be of no benefit to you, our family, or the
Roman people. His schemes and lies could most certainly bring harm to you. Following his plans will end in
you losing your good reputation with the people, receiving disapproval from the great Caesar, and you may
even be thrown into prison!
First of all, your engagements with Cassius could tarnish your good reputation and your trust with
the Roman people. Mingling your unmistakable honor with Cassius' deceitful ways would be of no
advantage to you, my darling husband. You have worked for years to gain the genuine trust of the Roman
citizens and it would be most foolish for you to lose it now. You must have the people's faith if you wish to
be of any service or importance in Rome. Their trust is vital if you wish to stay in a place of power with
their support. Agreeing with Cassius and his ways will bring you none of this.
The next reason I will share with you is the one that is closest to me heart. If anyone was to find
out about your plans with Cassius, you would undoubtedly be throw into prison and stripped of your place of
power. Besides negatively affecting all of Rome, it would risk our family's wellbeing. I love you very much,
Brutus, and being your wife, I could only ask that you consider the fate of your family. I need you to remain
here with me, and not in prison. Also, if you were to be thrown in jail, you would be of no help to your
