Equity or Equality?
What world would you live in. A world of equity or equality. I would live in a world of equity. The difference between equity vs equality. Equity is the state of being fair and impartial. Equality is the state of being equal, especially rights, and opportunities. This term equality vs equity is related to the novel The absolutely true diary of a part-time indian because this novel is about a kid that gets bullied about how he looks and talks and also his race and how he should be treated equally with the other kids at his school.
I think it is better to live in a world of equity more than equality because the poor get more and the rich get less. The book states that “indians only felt half the pain as white people” (pg. 2) which is racist and that is inequality for junior.
A personal experience that I had that is related to the topic equality vs. equity was at school with my friends. This was an example of equity because we were at the playground after lunch and some of my friends did not have lunch because of the balance they had in their lunch accounts. We all met at the playground and my friend had some snacks that he shared with everyone but gave the friends who didn't have lunch a little extra which made everyone's day. That's why I think equity is good in real life situations.
My thesis relates to the real world because equity is more equal to everyone because at the end everyone gets the same amount. Such as the homeless and the rich. Homeless get less respect from us and the rich get more respect from us. Everyone should be treated equally.
At the end of this everyone should be treated equally by equity. Equity is more important to me because of the way it treats everyone with respect.
