Diversity is the Keystone to Organizational Success
Diversity Is the Keystone to Achieving Global Business Success
The purpose of the research is to inform readers that diversity is the keystone to achieving global business success. Globally, successful organizations have recognized the importance of diversity and have restructured themselves in order to help them overcome the many obstacles encountered when dealing with the cultural differences of people or countries they do business with. Businesses that continue to operate without taking advantage of what diversity offers will lose opportunities to expand into other major markets or countries. Organizations with a diverse workforce are also successful in reaching out to other markets, demographics and cultures because people are more comfortable dealing with someone that seems to represent them or are sympathetic of their needs. Diversity may well be the link that creates the bond between organizations, their customers or even countries by simply providing them with a basic understanding of cultural differences.
Furthermore, diversity can help organizations minimize conflict and misunderstandings between employees and top management, and among employees themselves. An employee is more inclined to communicate or address an issue if they see someone that has a similar background whether it is a peer or a member of management. In addition, employees become more loyal and committed when they see that the company makes an effort to understand their cultural needs and differences.
