Disadvantages of Euthanasia:

VIOLATION on…

1980 Declaration on Euthanasia

Is an official document on the topic of euthanasia, a statement that was issued as by the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith

Also states that:

“…doctors, beyond providing medical skill, must above all provide patients with the comfort of boundless kindness and heartfelt charity”

For those who work in the medical profession, aside from making all their skill and abilities available to the sick and dying, they should also remember how much more necessary it is to provide them with boundless kindness and heartfelt charity and it is never their responsibility to take one’s life.

Virtue of Charity

Charity is patient and kind, charity is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Charity does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Charity bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things."

                                        -Apostle Paul

Death is inevitable and does not always come in easy and dramatic circumstances. The person who is dying also experiences what Jesus Christ experienced before dying on the cross. He bore and endured the all the sufferings given to Him. We, as a family member of the person, must also bear the situation that the dying person is in. We must endure the pain for him, hope and believe that he will be with God in the after life.

10 Commandments “Thou Shall not Kill”

Euthanasia is an act of taking one’s life thus it violates one of the 10 commandments of God which is “thou shall not kill”. Also It attacks and neglects the dignity of a human person.

Expert’s Opinion on Euthanasia

"'You will never get accustomed to killing somebody. We are not trained to kill. With euthanasia, your nightmare comes true.'"

  • Pieter Admiraal, a leader of Holland's euthanasia movement

"Many physicians and others who oppose assisted suicide and euthanasia believe that the practices undermine the integrity of medicine and the patient-physician relation-ship. Medicine is devoted to healing and the promotion of human wholeness; to use medical techniques in order to achieve death violates its fundamental values. Even in the absence of widespread abuse, some argue that allowing physicians to act as 'beneficent executioners' would undermine patients' trust, and change the way that both the public and physicians view medicine."
