Euthanasia
Christians are mostly against euthanasia, they believe that all life is God given and human beings are made in God’s image. Birth and life are apart of everyone’s life and we should respect that God has given that to us, meaning no human has the right to take that away from you, even if the person is begging you on there death bed to let them pass. Many churches believe that death is a very spiritual time and should not be taken for granted and not taken from you. Exceptions to the beliefs are that Christians respect every human being meaning if the human wants to refuse treatment than they have to abide by the persons wishes. Also if you respect someone then you should respect how they want to spend their last days. Christians also believe that the community should care for the person that is dyeing and their loved ones. Also the community should face death with support and be honest about it. Christians also believe they should be open to their hopes and dreams.
I agree with these beliefs in some ways and in some ways I don’t. If your loved one is just sitting a vegetable state for years, it might be easier for you to just let them go. Also if someone refuses treatment but you know they would get better with it, you should be able to make that decision for the person. I agree with the respecting a person wishes on how they want to live out there last days, because it’s their life and they should end it how they want to, not how you want it.
The Sikh religion is against euthanasia as well. They have a high respect for life because they see it as a gift from god. They believe that everyone has a time and it is in God’s hands and should be left in his hands. A lot of the Sikh teaching tells you that you should be devoted to caring for others who are less off then yourself. Also it says that
