In this song it talks about everything you can do in London. I don’t plan on spending all my time in the city, but when I am there I will enjoy it to the fullest. The first verse talks about renting a Barclays bike and riding it around London, this is something I’ve always wanted to do whenever I was there. It also talks about going to the underground and riding the tube, I would use the underground regularly to get from one place to another. I like how the song talks about the the “winding cobbled streets” because it not only talks about big landmarks, but also the little things.
The song starts out talking about waking up in London and it feeling surreal. The way I interpret the rest is meeting new people and going different places, this is something that I will definitely encounter on the adventure. I would have to learn to be more outgoing in order to make new friends and go places. The chorus makes me feel optimistic about the trip and is upbeat. The bridge (“Hopelessly, I feel like there might be something that I’ll miss”) is something that I’ll have to deal with, because going away that long I will absolutely miss what's going on at home.
