A lot of people all over the world depend on religion. They pray to God for
the strength to get through hardships. But sometimes some kind of people feel a
doubt about existence or justice of God, especially when they are in unbearable
poverty, sadness or adversity. Elie Wieser once experienced terrible historical event
holocaust. Is there a purpose to believe in God when you are in a situation like
holocaust?
Elie was very interested in Jewish faith, such as Kabbalah. He met Moishe
the Beadle, and Moishe helped him th learn about jewish mysticism. But whole world
started to shrouded in darkness of war. Elie and his family and Jews were expelled.
Finally his mother and sister thrown into furnace with thousands of Jews. And Elie
started to be convulsed:
Never shall I forget those moments that murdered my God and my soul and
turned my dreams to ashes.
It says that his God is dead. He denied existence of God. After witnessing hanging
of little child, he mentioned about death of God once again:
