As you walk in the front door of my house the first thing you see is the sign that reads, “Home is where the Heart is.” This represents exactly what I think of my house. All the love and the work that has gone into that house to make all that it is today, has come from my family. We love it. The holidays, the celebrations, and all of the memories of my family, happened at this house. The memories will be in my heart wherever I go.

The kitchen, the living room, and the porch revealed most about the character of our house. The passion and the love that those three rooms have been through show exactly what my house has done for me personally, as well as my whole family. They have been through destruction as well as reconstruction, but each time they to turn out better. They have been changed from one style to the next, never losing the purpose and meaning behind them. As I found myself often wondering through these rooms recalling everything I have done in them, I only find fond memories in which I will never forget. They make the house what it is.

Let us sweep sand of the floor.” (The Ship-Shape pg.33) Considering I’m no little boy, I spent quite a bit of time scrounging around my kitchen for every bit of food that I could find. Right in the middle of my kitchen, sits my mom’s pride and joy. An island made of old barn wood with two old windows on top. The windows are covered with a large piece of glass to protect them against the wear and tear of the two boys. This island is nothing like you have ever seen before. It is something that only my mom could have thought of. She never gets sick of renovating the kitchen; As my mom would say, “I don’t have time to get sick of it.”
