There are many books that teach many lessons and a great plot. In the novel Monster by Walter Dean Myers is a great book that shows a great lesson that takes affect in everyday life. Walter Dean Made a great novel that emphasizes life everyday.

Monster is about a young man named Steve Harmon. Steve is a 16-year-old boy who tries to fit in, in Harlem New York. Steve helps 2 robbers rob a store and the 2 robbers shoot the storeowner. Steve then gets arrested and brought in front of a jury deciding weather or not he is guilty. He gets held in a detention center and every night he writes in his journal as a movie or play about what is going on in the trial. Through the whole book the flash back to scenes of how it leads up to the murder and they bring in different witnesses.

I think that monster is a great book. I think it is a great book because it haves action, a great plot, and it applies to everyday life. I also like this book because Walter writes the book like a real boy was talking with all the slang he writes. So it was like real life. Also he sets up the book as a movie.

This book applies to everyday life. The theme for this book is you don't have to fit in to be cool. Steve tries to do something bad so everybody thinks he is down. New York is a hard place to fit in, but you have to better your surroundings.

In conclusion in the novel Monster by Walter Dean Myers teaches many lessons and haves a great plot that applies to everyday life. People should read this book to understand life more and not to try to fit in if you do not fit in the surroundings. I recommend this book to many people who like to read and like to learn new lessons in life.
