Dealing with employee motivation is a huge part of any successful business. The problems of managing a strenuous schedule and maintaining a happy workforce is easier said than done. Companies like Google and Microsoft have been able to accomplish this but not all companies have the resources financially, or the ability to have those type of work environments. However, it is important for companies to focus on trying to implement motivation tactics to help employees thrive in their fields.
Green River, needs to adopt a program that focuses on continuous improvement for both the individual and the team. The company I work for has a program titled "Back to Basics". This program encourages employees to consistently think of better ways to do their jobs." Back to Basics" promotes an attitude of always thinking, whether it be product, processes, or team improvement. "Back to Basics" also demands management to respond to ideas and implement or improve upon them. This helps create a team atmosphere and helps break barriers between workers and management. The company also rewards employees if any idea is implemented.
I feel that this program is adaptable to all types of businesses. "Back to Basics" allows individuals to think creatively and rewards them for good ideas. The people on the floor know first hand the ins and outs of any plant, and this program thrives off this knowledge. "Back to Basics" also helps individuals prove their worth which in return helps in areas, such as pay, career development, and performance abilities.
