FOR ONE MORE DAY by MITCH ALBOM

        For One More Day is the true story of Chick Benetto, is an ex professional baseball player. A year after his mother died because of heart attack, he had done a dumbest thing in financial by putting most of his savings in a worthless stock fun. He let a good looking and young woman in a confident, breezy, two-buttons-undone fashion took him into investment. He had to explain to his wife about where the money went. He left his family shortly thereafter or they had left him. Following years, his life has been destroyed by alcohol and regret that makes him loses his work. He decides to take his own life after discovering his only daughter has shut him out of her wedding.

                                                                                                                                                                                                         

        Chick decides to makes a late night trip to his small hometown one last time before end his life in his old hometown. On the way, when he misses the entry, he turns around driving on the opposite of the highway causing his car spins out of control and he is knocked unconscious .This is when he goes back in to his old house only to make magical discovery. He encounters the ghost of his late mother, Pauline "Posey" Benetto. Chick doesn’t appreciate his mother during his mother still alive.

        Chick has one special day with his mother, day to observe her work, to speak with her and discover past conflicts. Previously unknown clash related to his difficult childhood memory and reason his mother divorced with his father is because of his father had another wife and son. Besides that, his mother also helping him in resolving his problems and getting his life back to normal. Chick also has a second opportunity to apologize for his ingratitude toward the sacrifices of his mother. The story ends when Chick regains consciousness at the police officer's arms nearby the highway.
