Ford Motor Company, an American multinational Automaker was founded by Henry Ford on 16 June, 1903. The Company operates two Sectors. The company sells, manufacturing and marketing automobiles, electronic vehicles, trucks and SUVs with the brand Ford and luxury cars Lincoln. And financial services are credits. Ford also owns stake of Mazda, Aston Martin and has much Joint ventures. The company has approximately 70 plants over the world. In 2015, the company’s net revenue was $149.6B.
In 1908 Ford produced the mass produced Model T which sold millions. Nowaday, Ford Motor Company sells a broad range of automobiles under the Ford brand across the world and an range of luxury automobiles under the Lincoln brand in the United States. Ford has sold vehicles under a other Brand but all they failed, because of the poor sales. Ford Motors has also joint venture until 2008 with jaguar and Land Rover which are UK companies.
The company has different segments. North America, South America, Europe, The Middle East & Africa and Asia pacific. All of its vehicle and parts are sold through distributors and dealers, which are independently owned. The Company sells vehicles to dealerships for sale to customers, commercial fleet customers, daily rental car companies and governments. Ford also sells parts and accessories, primarily to its dealerships and it also offers extended service contracts.
Ford offers automotive finance through Ford Motor Credit Company. The Company's Financial Services sector includes its vehicle financing and leasing activities. The Company's Ford Credit has a portfolio of finance receivables and leases which it classifies into two portfolios: consumer and non-consumer. The business activities are concentrated primarily in the area of automobile loans in support of its parent company. The firm also issues commercial paper and other debt instruments. The revenue was $8.966B in year 2014.
Ford is a Public company and hiscompany structure is based on needs in varying markets on the world. The markets are divided in the 3 regional markets and has divisions in it’s organizational structure. Ford has mostly traditional corporate hierarchy in his organizational structure. In example linear structure, Executive Vice Presidents report to CEO. The Executive Chairman of Ford is William Clay Ford and Mark fields is since 1 July, 2014 President and CEO. Additional to Executive Chairman and CEO Ford has 14 board of directors.
