FORMATIVE ESSAY #1

The first day of my class, which was scheduled to start at 9 a.m.,  I was so anxious, that I was well before time.  My Major, Dr Thomas Lim, our lecturer,  is a Masters in International Business and one of the best on Comparative Management.  I was so excited as it was the first class on comparative management and the expectations were so much, trust me all were fulfilled by lecturer Dr. Thomas Lim. He was extremely friendly and interacted with a lot of positive zeal. Being an introductory session all of us were first told to introduced our self and we got to know more about our fellow mates.  

The subject outline by the lecturer, helped me to understand the nuances of the subject and he also explained the subject in a nutshell. Subsequently, we were asked to form groups of four for the assignments and were also informed about the various topics. We were asked to choose one topic and I chose rather to team up with fellow students, from different localities. The rules and regulations were formulated and were communicated to us. This was the first time I was introduced to assignments and I felt really nervous on knowing the rules and the value assigned to our assignments. But my teammates made me feel relaxed and infused the confidence which I gained after some time. There was a break of 30 minutes in between the session, and with no second thoughts, I immediately utilised this break to my advantage spending time and interacting with my fellow mates.

I learnt a lot of things like the difference between plagiarism and cheating, how to go about the assignments, contents of the subject etc. I hope this excitement stays within me throughout the semester and I am sure I would gain a lot of knowledge and experience in the days to come. As it was the first class we didn’t get to learn about the subject in depth, which was more of orientation, but I am sure from subsequent classes, we would learn and understand the subject in detail. I am, now eagerly waiting to learn more about the subject, in the days to come. Eventually the first day of my class is the most memorable event of my life, since I accomplished lot of things and it was an amazing experience, which I would cherish lifetime.
