The first week was to explore the importance of securing first-hand market data about customers, also known as primary research. Then explore techniques for getting customer feedback that will boost the odds of turning ideas into a success. How to define primary market research and identify appropriate customer discovery tools to define customer and market needs, problems and entrepreneurial opportunities. It also included a read up on Lucky by Design, Navigating your Path to Success by Beth Goldstein. It also included a video on customer survey followed by an activity in which we had to form a survey based on various key points for a particular business by asking the ‘right questions ‘in order to get the required appropriate response. That was followed by a quick quiz testing whether we had actually understood what the week’s objective was (marketing research tools, primary research, secondary market and research tools survey) and an analysis of a given survey on the basis of certain given parameters like difficulty, bias and misleads and posts our opinion on the discussion forum.
• The second week begun with objective of learning how to design an efficient marketing campaign and it involved criticizing the campaign of a certain competitor of the brand you are willing to represent. Constructive criticism was expected based on a 5 point scale and by asking relevant questions like the appeal of the campaign, engaging power, communication standard, compelling power and so on. The critique should be based by understanding the target market, needs of the customers and should be appropriately relevant. We had to also analyze that how all that we are understanding from this course will be applicable to our real-world goals , which part of the weeks’ course did actually help you get a better understanding of what the course expects of you and also how will any of the ideas help you change the way you act and think with regards to a campaign. It was followed by a quiz on various terms like Calls to Action , traditional method of marketing, marketing communication channel and was ended with a wrap up or a conclusion of Week 2.
The week begins with learning about brand and brand value and how that helps to reach out in order to create a strong customer base and to maintain relationships we are further taught about inter-personal relationships and how it the most ancient form of communication yet the most effective. Inter personal relationships helps us understand the difference between actual communication and communication via an intermediate platform – the former being more useful since it helps to get the message across and also helps identify the true nature of your intentions with regards to the brand and its value. Body language, tone, voice and words actually make a larger and better impression than any mail or other form of communication.
