“From a young boy to a college boy”
I’ve always had a passion for baseball. I started playing when I was the age of two, normally most toddlers start at the age of three. I knew I was going to be great at playing this sport and it’s something that I will always love!
Fall had came and it was time for tee-ball season start. My dad was my coach from this time all the way up to my high school career. He was there for me from the beginning. Having my father as my coach, he held me at very high expectations. He wanted me to be the best to my potential. He pushed me to become a greater player and leader. From the beginning, when I first started tee-ball until now, I was not only working to become a great player but also working hard because I love the game and to make my family proud.
My high school career was just the beginning of my success. I trained hard every day because I wanted to be the best and make my dad very proud. I wanted to show him that he didn’t waste his time on me. My junior year was a struggle for me because of how much I struggled at the plate, but throughout the season I felt like I was missing something, something that could make me better than I already was, something that when I played made me stick out more than the other people on my team. I asked my coach what I could do or change to make me a better player. We talked about few things but one thing that really caught my attention was my swing. It took lots of practice but I soon perfected it after while which in return made me better. Over the difficult times through practice and balancing my talents I learn how to be better. During my games when it was my turn to bat I was hitting every ball that was pitched right to me which made me stand out and overall a better player.
With me perfecting myself my junior year made my senior year a breeze but still made me work harder to become better than I already was. College coaches started noticing me and wanted me to be a part of their schools legacy. I had many offers from colleges in state and out of state. I chose to attend Mid-America because my family and I thought it was best for me at this point in my career. My family also valued a Christian setting to be influential in my life. Mid-America was a good start in education and baseball, as well as learning about Christ. When I started college ball I knew that I was going to have to work way harder than I did before because everyone has the same goal as me; they all want to make it the pros. The season had started and the first game was here. I was assigned to start the first game. Although nervous at first, I knew I had the confidence to perform well. With me being a freshman and knowing how great I was already. I knew that I was destined to be something greater! I felt like I had already accomplished so much but this was only the beginning of my career.
