Good communication between management and employees is absolutely necessary for a successful business. If there is good communication, then the whole operation can run smoothly. If there is bad communication, then that leaves room for miscommunication and errors. This paper is going to show how good communication can have a positive effect in the setting of a credit union.
Recently, at my place of employment, we have gone through some management changes. Our Vice President of Lending and Branch Manager resigned from his position. So, currently our Human Resource Manager and our CEO have been going over everything the Branch Manager changed over the last three years. Our Branch Manager primarily communicated through emails addressed to all users. It was up to us as employees to keep up with any changes in policies and procedures with his emails.
In the past few weeks, we have started having weekly meetings with the Human Resources Manager and our CEO. In these meetings, they explain to us the procedures and policies that are being changed or newly implemented. We as employees have the chance to ask questions and make suggestions about the information we are provided.
Since we have started these meetings, the moral of the whole credit union has changed. People are actually informed and trained on any new or changed policies. We don’t feel like we have to constantly second guess ourselves while performing our everyday jobs. Everyone is more pleasant because we are always on the same page. No one fears losing their job for making a mistake because they weren’t properly trained. We also feel like our opinion matters because they intently listen to our suggestions and try to accommodate.
