Function analysis
As part of my Gcse Hospitality course I myself, and my class must plan and work together to successfully host a function. Before we could begin our task we completed a group task analysis, this being a spider diagram. The diagram was split into multiple arms these being: location, decorations, times, Health and safety, roles, Menu items. Together as my class brought up valid points I added some suggestion; we placed all the suggestions on the aforementioned diagrams as rough copies. Again these beigh in depth variants of …’ location, decorations, times, Health and safety, roles, Menu items,’ .
I shall give time to discuss the points highlighted in my spider diagram giving detail of discussed points and areas that need to be addressed in order for our function to run smoothly…
Our function wast be in a area of high elegance, a place where you would feel as if you were to walk into boutique hotel, and we have the perfect location. We didn't discuss very long on where we were going to host our function. We all agreed the on the Boardroom of Bearnageeha House. The high walls with baroque style interior design would set the bar high very high for our guests, it was a hands down discussion on using the boardroom everyone agreed.
Secondly theme, the theme was preset to be a valentine's style tea. We didn't have a choice of the general theme; We could have creative flow over the style. I wish with the majority of the class that we set a regal and traditional. For this i would reseach high tea at hotels like ‘The Merchant’.
For this we wouldn't stray far from neutral colours, for the tables crisp white linen with matte red decorations as it would offset the dark maroon of the boardrooms walls. Not a thing shall be hung or strung from the ceiling or walls since the room is white tipped and would make the attendee feel rather claustrophobic or winced sitting with a cupid etc hanging above their heads.
We would like service to begin at 1:00 this being
