Gene One's Team Analysis
Don Ruiz, Chief Executive Officer recruited four colleagues to form Gene One. Michelle Houghton, Chief Financial Officer, a passionate, credible, and accurate leader who feels a strong ownership with the organization. Michelle has a close internal and external relationship with Don and his family. Michelle has never directed finance in a large organization or managed IPO's. Michelle has developed a strong working relationship with the board, the leadership team, and government agencies. Michelle's leadership style is steadiness and cautiousness.
Charles Jones, Marketing Officer, reputation for clever risk taking and biotechnology connections. Charles is the ideal person to develop and execute marketing strategies (University of Phoenix, 2013). Charles is motivated by his own successes. Charles focuses his talents and time on defining products that will sell and creating specific Gene One branding but Charles has yet to design or implement a marketing infrastructure. Charles leadership leans toward steadiness and interactive styles.
Teri Robertson, Chief Technology Officer and Don's niece, doctoral genetic breakthrough discovery is the driving force of Gene One's success. Teri holds several patents for her research breakthroughs. Teri prefers to concentrate her talents on technology research. Charles understands Teri's love of research development and though involves Teri in marketing Charles leaves Teri to her work making decisions for them both. Teri's leadership is cautious.
Greg Thoman, Chief Human Resources Officer, staffed Gene One with the best researchers and talented ground-breaking product developers. Due to Gene One's growth Greg has had a hard time keeping up with human resources duties. Greg has had little time to develop future talents or create a corporate culture. Greg's leadership is interactive and dominance.
