Abstract
According to recent study over the years it had been good to implement a good communication among team member. This article will show participants to learn and develop their ability to communicate effectively as members of a team. In the end a sense of belonging gives each team member pride of being a part of a good team.
Team communication plays a major role in a within the group. There should be willingness to talk and share information and presenting their point of view. Good listening skills are not just the main item in a group. While in a discussion everyone in the group should be prepared; and able to think things out before speaking out of line. There should a positive tone or neutral tone within each team member’s voice when speaking. The group should address one issue at a time; stay focus on the issue not the person.
The team needs to be able to have a meeting and have everyone be able to agree on a subject, however, not everyone will be able to agree. As a result a comprise will have to reached, it will allow for a common ground for the team member’s that are in agreement and for the team members that are not. Then there will be conflict and a resolution. With this the team can set forth and procedure to their assigned tasked. A good example would be implementing a dress code in a team. The team leader wants everyone to dress in business attire for future meetings and some team members believe that this is too high of a standard and don’t agree. When the team leader asks for opinions from the rest of the team, some team members don’t answer. Not from being afraid of speaking out, but from segregation from the other members of the team that agree with the team leader. This subject can cause the some team members to be uncomfortable. A team member needs to be able to communicate and have no judgment passed on them. This is why communication and understanding is so important in a group, so that each team member can be heard. One way in developing good team communications is developing a few simple steps. Make sure that they attract the right team members that you want in your group. They should be able to provide value to the team. Provide meaningful work for the group, offer a variety of skills and be trustworthy. Bottom line is that members will be able to see the value placed on them, the value of each other member, and the value of the team as a whole. With this they will be able to accomplish the goal that the team set.
