Genocide is the systematic and planned extermination of an entire national, racial, political or ethnic group. It is evident in history in many ways beginning during the Holocaust right up until the Civil Rights Movement. It is evident that racial profiling is a controversial issue. There are both positive and negative reasons to allow profiling. There are many contributing factors that cause racism and racial profiling, which range from the government to an individual who acts in a racist manner.
One positive aspect of racial profiling is that it can be helpful to our national security. Racial profiling would allow our countries' national security to screen certain individuals or double check personal identifications if they deemed it necessary. This would be beneficial in order to confirm that they are allowed into the country, or that there are no warrants out for the arrest of the individual in question. This type of profiling could prevent terrorist and illegal aliens from entering the country. It should only be permissible in airports, other ports and close to the border. In these places an individual who looks suspicious should have their identification double-checked, or screened whatever the case may be. This by no means an act of genocide because nobody would be subject to degradation or any type of abuse. To allow profiling could be considered a racist act, but I feel strongly that this profiling should be in place so we can assure the safety of our country. As soon as they have provided identification, the individual should be let go.
Not many generations ago, a lot of families were racist, so they brought up their kids in a racist household. A negative feature of racial profiling comes up with this issue of how a person was brought up. These people would be more prone to hurting or degrading someone based on their race, gender, and cultural or religious background. If border patrolmen were racist
