How is educational achievement affected by gender identity?
In the majority of many cases there is no difficulty determining sex and gender. The overwhelming majority of human beings are considered to be either men or woman on the basis of their biological sex. There are many factors to defining gender: the way we dress, the genetic information, and the form of our bodies. Gender is the main thing in identity. It is influenced by individual and collective and social and biological factors. There are probably as many shades and complexities of sexual identity and gender identity as there are human beings, and there are an equal number of ways of working those gender identities out in the intricacies of daily life. Societies tend to have binary gender systems in which everyone is categorized as male or female. Gender associations are constantly changing as society progresses.
The gender identity that each individual possesses is unique. Individuals act out their gender identities as gender roles. Other people then observe their gender role - dress, behavior, and other such indications -, and infer the gender identity and the sex of these individuals. Gender roles were traditionally divided into strictly feminine and masculine gender roles, though these roles have diversified today into many different acceptable male or female gender roles. However , gender role norms for women and men can vary significantly from one country or culture to another, even within a country or culture. The formation of a gender identity is a complex process that starts with conception, but which involves critical growth processes during gestation and even learning experiences after birth. There are points of differentiation all along the way, but language and tradition in most societies insist that every individual be categorized as either a man or a woman. Some research has been done that indicates that gender identity is fixed in early childhood. It estimate the age at which gender identity is formed at around 2-3. Some critics question this research. The acquisition of hormone replacement therapy and sexual reasigment surgery is generally controlled by doctors. So thare are many diffenrent factors that shape gender identity. Biological factors that are affected by environment, and social factors that are influenced through our understanding of biology.
