Problem Solution: Global Communications

Global Communications is one of many telecommunications companies with diminished returns over the last few years. This paper will go through the evaluation process needed to create and successfully implement the best possible solution to Global Communications' current problems.

Situation Analysis

Global Communications can view the experience of Citgo to understand the importance of mass communication and positive advertising. A positive perception of Global Communications will help partnership with other companies. A positive view may also help Global Communications expand its customer base. Public relations campaign, as an alternative, rated 2.81 out of a possible 5 in the Alternative Solution Evaluation Matrix, which can be seen at Table 1. Public relations contributes moderately toward the end-state goals with a possible effect of increasing the customer base, increasing the ability to partnership with other companies, and moderately increase employee satisfaction. All the previously listed factors will contribute to overall profitability. Public relations will have no effect on decreasing the unit cost expenses. Overall, partnership is a moderately strong alternative and may only be considered in combination with other alternatives as a solution option.

The end-state goals must be evaluated in order to validate the success or failure of implementing the chosen solution. The Executive Vice President of Operations will need to evaluate if the unit costs for handling calls will be reduced by 35% within three years. The Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales will be responsible to evaluate whether or not Global communications' customer base will increased by 15% in three years as well as overall profitability increase by 20% within three years. The Executive Vice President of Human Resources will be responsible to oversee that the surveys are administered annually in order monitor whether or not Global Communications receives a passing score of 75% satisfaction.
