Global warming is heating up the oceans surface which is causing the bleaching of the coral reef. Bleaching is when coral reefs “expel the colorful, microscopic algae that provide them with nutrition”, this is very deadly for the coral. This is not happening everywhere because some scientist believed that the ocean will adjust itself to adjust to the temperature change.

According to chapter 3 lecture on Global warming, the professor discussed how the greenhouse effect is warming up the earth’s atmosphere. Primary greenhouse gases include water vapor, carbon dioxide (CO), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (NO), and ozone (O) . Carbon dioxide, as well as other greenhouse gases, is a very important factor in the vital cycles which sustain life on this planet. Plants use CO in photosynthesis and release oxygen necessary to maintain the lives of animal species, who through exhaling return CO in atmosphere, completing the cycle. Greenhouse effect is a natural process which made life on Earth feasible.

Global warming affects all life on earth. When one thing is out of balance, it throws off the remainder. This lack of concern among the general population regarding their awareness about Global Warming can be blamed on both media and politicians for not taking an active role in this problem.

Global Warming is a big problem and if everyone takes a part in making in change, we can make a big difference. In fact, as individuals we can cut back on our daily energy use and conserve energy by removing items that use unnecessary amounts of energy, buy clean or hybrid vehicles that are environmentally friendly. Some other things that we can do together would be to raise awareness of the need for action and working to create congressional support. We also can support stopping of clear-cutting of valuable forests and help new renewable energy technologies.
