Joan Johnson is a Gentle and Reliable Person
On a breezy summer day, while the trees were gently blowing in the wind, I decided to take a stroll through the park, not knowing that this day would bring me a wonderful, life long friend. The park has these enormous, dark green oak trees and antique golden brown benches to rest upon. As I stroll through the park, the aroma of the velvet lilies cools my nostrils. The warmth of the yellow sun gently caresses my arms like a new sweater. I hear people musically laughing together as though they are in a church choir. I knew that, truly, this day was the beginning of a new adventure.
As I continue to walk through the park, I notice a still and quiet object sitting underneath an oak tree. Curiosity drew me closer to the object, and I see that it is a tall slender young lady reading a best seller novel by Angela Johnson My Friend For Life. I walked slowly toward the young lady to inquire about her book. However, before I can say anything, she gives me a welcoming smile. Naturally, we begin to talk. The book she is reading has caught my interest. The title My Friend For Life stands out very clearly. I said, "Is that a good book you're reading?" Gracefully, the young lady stands boldly to her feet and replies, "Why, yes, it's a very good book, I might say." At that moment we introduce ourselves and begin to talk briefly about the book. The book is basically about two ladies who became the best of friends. The young lady begins to walk along with me through the park. Once we reached the end of the park we exchange telephone numbers and email addresses to stay in touch.
My new friend's name is Joann Johnson. Mrs. Johnson and I have so many things in common. For example, we both have dogs, we both enjoy decorating, we both enjoy shopping, and eating out. Although Mrs. Johnson is older than I am, I can now have a big-sister relationship. I am the only girl of three brothers and sometimes that can be very lonesome. I now have a friend who I can share stories with. I decided to give her a call to invite her to my home for tea and tea cakes on Saturday. When Mrs. Johnson accepted the invitation, excitement race through my mind. I actually thought she would say, "I'm too busy at the moment, but I'll take a rain check." There are several flavors I would like to share with her. Unfortunately, I only have one flavor which is raspberry.
Mrs. Johnson arrived at my home approximately 2:00 o'clock p.m. on Saturday afternoon. It didn't surprise me to see Mrs. Johnson in her stunning by fashionable attire gracefully getting out of her black convertible 2006 Mercedes Benz. However, I was surprised that she presented me with a gift beautifully wrapped in brightly colored paper.
